I have suffered from neck pain for years. Beth is one of the best massage therapists I have ever had. She is skillful, knowledgeable and professional. The massage was therapeutic and relaxing. Even days after the massage, the tension in my neck is greatly reduced. 10/10.

Beth is a wonderful massage therapist! Her Thai asiatsu routine is one of the best massages I have ever received! It is the perfect combination of stretching and deep tissue work. Because she is standing on the table she is able to get depth and pressure that other therapists can't get. It's been a week since my massage. I still feel the results of it. I am moving better and my energy is flowing better as well!

My massage with Beth was just what I needed! Great combination of relaxation and working out the kinks/knots in my back, neck and shoulders. Her space is warm and inviting. She is professional and a good listener. Was very pleased with my visit and I'll definitely be back!

The space is cozy and welcoming. Beth is a very warm, friendly and caring massage therapist. I'd booked an Ashiatsu and she briefly explained how she works. I especially enjoyed the patience she had in allowing my muscles to let go under her pressure. A skill that is a challenge for any massage therapist. I will return.

I've been to Beth several times and have not been disappointed. Her massages are top notch. She listens so well to my concerns and addresses all my issues. I can't wait to schedule another massage in 2022!

Beth is nothing short of amazing. I went to see her for the first time because my back and shoulders were really tight after an intense workout I did the previous day. From start to finish, Beth was professional and knowledgeable. She was able to alleviate the discomfort I was having and release most of the tension as well. I left feeling A LOT better than when I arrived. I’ve already scheduled my next appointment with her and am really looking forward to it. I highly recommend Beth as a massage therapist.

Frequently Asked Questions

1Do you only work with people with neck pain?
No, I work with people that just want to relax, that have low back pain, hip pain, general back pain. I work with all kinds of people with all kinds of goals for their sessions, although my specialty is the relief of neck pai
2Do I have to get undressed?
It is easier to work directly on skin so for those comfortable taking clothing off then that is ideal. The therapist steps out of the room so the client can get undressed privately. The client lays on the table under a sheet and a small blanket. The client stays covered the entire session, except for the area being worked on. So the session is kept as modest as possible for the client.
3What if I fall asleep?
Personally, I think it is just fine to fall asleep during a massage. When I receive a massage and fall asleep I always feel like it was the best nap ever! Some clients don't like to fall asleep because they "don't want to miss out." Focus on your breath and allow your body to do what it needs to heal.
4What all goes on during a session?
What specifically gets worked on will depend on the client's goals. Beth can incorporate techniques of deep tissue, warm bamboo, more superficial and gentle fascial release, along with gentle stretches to help reach specific goals a client has for pain relief, relaxation, and increase in mobility and movement.
5My mind wanders a lot during a massage and it is hard for me to relax, what should I do?
Focus on your breath. Allow thoughts to come into your mind but don't hold on to them. Beth likes to imagine thoughts floating on leaves on a flowing stream. You can watch the thought float past you and move out of your mind. If one does get stuck then refocus on your breath. Breathe into the area that is being worked on to help that area release.

Imagine receiving a massage and discovering that you can turn your head more easily without moving your whole body.

Picture waking up the next morning after your best sleep in weeks. Envision gaining knowledge about how to set up your desk to limit pain at work.

Think about learning specific stretches and exercises tailored to your needs.

Visualize having less pain, playing freely with your kids, and engaging in the activities you love.

At Bloomington Therapeutic Massage, our goal is to help you achieve these outcomes and any other pain relief or relaxation goals you may have for yourself.
